The Mining Department, through the Directorate of Geology & Mining, the Maharashtra State Mining Corporation, the Mahakhanij digital platform, and other allied bodies, has instituted a robust system of governance and facilitation. This integrated framework ensures that while processes are simplified and investor-friendly, they are also transparent, accountable, and aligned with the highest standards of compliance. By streamlining approvals, modernising auctions, and deploying advanced monitoring technologies, we are creating a predictable environment for investors, while firmly combating illegal mining and strengthening oversight. 

Our focus is on making mining a catalyst for inclusive development. Revenues channelled through District Mineral Foundations are transforming lives in mining-affected regions, supporting education, healthcare, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Districts such as Gadchiroli and Chandrapur are being developed as hubs for mineral-based value addition, with an emphasis on local participation, employment generation, and social progress. 

Beyond extraction, Maharashtra is advancing beneficiation and downstream industries so that greater value is retained within the State. With world-class connectivity through ports, highways, and industrial corridors, we are positioning ourselves as a hub for responsible mineral-based industrialisation. Environmental responsibility remains at the core of our model, with emphasis on rehabilitation, afforestation, renewable energy adoption, and resource efficiency—fully aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Viksit Maharashtra 2047.
